Every March, Youth Art Month is celebrated across the country to bring focus to the significance of art education and the value of the visual arts as a vital element of individual and community. ShenArts is proud to present this juried exhibition of work from local youth artists as a part of the Youth Art Month initiative and to support the area’s budding creatives. This show features works submitted by artists ranging from kindergarten through middle school and includes art from students enrolled in both private and public school as well as those who are homeschooled. ShenArts hopes that this exhibit will serve as a shining example of the talent and creativity found in our community’s youth, as well as a testament to the dedication and heart provided by the area’s art teachers/instructors.
Two artworks from this exhibit (one from K-4 and one from 5-8) will be chosen to be duplicated onto ArtScape banners on display in Old Town Winchester for one year! The original pieces are part of the ArtScape originals exhibition at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley’s Art in the Halls from April – July. Artists are invited to a reception and artist-sponsor mixer at the MSV on May 5, 5:00-7:00 pm.
