For years, ArtScape has transformed the Old Town walking mall into an outdoor art gallery, accessible to all. In the 2019-2020 project, over forty banners were featured with the work of regional artists. The exhibition at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley that ran from July 21, 2020 through October 18, 2020 showcased the original works selected for the 2020 display. ArtScape 11 was organized by ShenArts in collaboration with Old Town Winchester and was supported by local sponsors, the Virginia Commission for the Arts, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
ArtScape is a public art program open to artists of all ages that is meant to represent all walks of life and all brands and levels of talent; a group of work with diverse themes to create a shared experience of art by an entire community. ArtScape is not a contest of who is the “best.”
