Part-Time Exhibition Manager

ShenArts is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Exhibition Manager to curate, coordinate, and promote exhibitions and art-related events. This part-time position (20+ hours per week) offers an excellent opportunity to engage with the local arts community while ensuring high-quality exhibitions and artist engagement. The ideal candidate will have experience in exhibition management, strong communication skills, and a passion for supporting artists and the arts.
 

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, curate, and manage art exhibitions, ensuring a professional and engaging gallery environment.

  • Maintain an organized exhibit schedule by coordinating the call-for-art process. Including, but not limited to artist outreach, selection, notifications, art drop off and pick-up times.

  • Oversee the installation and deinstallation of exhibitions, coordinating logistics with artists and volunteers.

  • Promote exhibitions through the website, social media, email campaigns, and other marketing channels.

  • Build and maintain relationships with artists, collectors, sponsors, and community partners.

  • Secure sponsorships from local businesses and organizations to support exhibitions and events.

  • Represent ShenArts at networking events to enhance community visibility and engagement.

  • Maintain exhibit records including name of artist, artwork, media, sale price, sizing and framing.

 

Qualifications
  • Experience in curating and coordinating exhibitions or similar events.

  • Strong marketing and promotional skills, particularly in digital and social media.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and relationship-building abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

  • Proficiency with Adobe design software, website management, and digital marketing tools is a plus.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic arts environment.
