Dear ShenArts Community,
How is this possible?! We find ourselves already around the sun approaching our 2020 annual meeting. In keeping with the unexpected theme of the year, we adapt and keep going! By now you are probably aware that this year’s annual meeting will be conducted virtually on Wednesday, October 28, 6:00 p.m. Please register here to receive the Zoom link to join the meeting. We will miss seeing you in 3D but are grateful that we will see your 2D face!
We are fortunate to have a creative and competent staff, who not only met this year’s challenges head on, but did it with seamless style and grace. Thank you so much, Christy Broy, Julia Young and Lisa Sipp. I would be remiss if I didn’t include a major shout out to board member, Kira Skala, who compassionately and lovingly created the ShenArts Face Mask Donation Program. With the support of over 100 individual donors, approximately 2600 face masks have been provided to those in need. We are all humbled and count it a privilege to be a part of this project from the heart.
An annual report with a complete picture of the past year and our vision going forward will be available to download following the meeting. Please note *** We are creating some fun multi-media presentations, one of which you will be asked to participate in, “We are ShenArts!” Look for an email from Julia next week, and as time for the meeting draws nearer, we will send you an agenda.
ShenArts remains committed to serving you and is more dedicated than ever to making the arts accessible and enriching the community of the Northern Shenandoah Valley with diverse and immersive arts experiences for people of all ages — bringing art to the people and people to the art.
Sincerely,
Jerry Hickman, Board President
