Call for Art​​​

​

ShenArts Gallery invites artists to submit work for Reclaim, an exhibition inspired by reuse, repurposing, and renewal.

 

This exhibition is open to all interpretations of the theme Reclaim. We invite artists to submit work made from reused, salvaged, or found materials. Work that explores reclamation conceptually, visually, or emotionally—even if the materials themselves are new— is welcome.

 

Artists are encouraged to consider ideas of transformation, sustainability, repair, memory, and second chances. This may include giving physical materials a second life, reworking old ideas or imagery, reclaiming personal or cultural narratives, or responding to environmental concerns through concept and form.

From reclaimed wood, textiles, and assemblage to painting, photography, printmaking, fiber, digital, and sculpture, Reclaim celebrates creative reinvention in all its forms.

We invite works that explore:

​

• Identity, heritage, and ancestry

• Healing, resilience, and transformation

• Decolonization and resistance

• Environmental or spatial reclamation

• Personal narratives of loss and recovery

All visual and interdisciplinary media are welcome, including but not limited to:

• Painting, drawing, printmaking

• Photography, digital art, video

• Sculpture, installation

• Textile, mixed media, performance

Works will be selected based on conceptual strength, relevance to the theme, and artistic quality.​​​​​​
