ShenArts is excited to invite artists to apply for our Artist Roster, a growing opportunity to showcase work across a variety of community partner locations throughout Winchester.

As we expand our programming, we are building a diverse roster of artists whose work can be featured in rotating exhibitions in public spaces, local businesses, and community venues. This is a great opportunity to gain visibility, connect with new audiences, and be part of a vibrant regional arts network.

How It Works

Artists are accepted into the roster based on the strength and consistency of their submitted portfolio. When exhibition opportunities arise, partner locations will review portfolios and select artists whose style best aligns with their space.

 

Please note:

• Selected exhibition pieces do not need to be the exact works submitted in your portfolio

• However, all exhibited work must clearly reflect the same style and quality as the accepted portfolio

• ShenArts reserves the right to remove work that does not meet these standards

 

Submission Requirements

• Estimated number of works you typically have available for exhibition

• Medium(s) you work in

• Any special installation needs (if applicable)

 

Portfolio Requirements

In a professional document, please submit:

• In one PDF: 

  • Artist information (name, email, website, socials)

  • 5–10 images of your work

  • Each piece must include:

    • Title

    • Medium

    • Dimensions

    • Year

    • Price (if applicable)

  • Artist Bio

  • Artist Statement 

• Headshot (seperate jpg)

Note: Work does not need to be for sale, but sales are strongly encouraged.

 

Presentation + Hanging Requirements

All accepted work must meet professional presentation standards:

• Work must be finished and ready to hang

• Frames are not required, but presentation should be clean and intentional

• All work must be installed using:

  • D-rings and hanging wire (no sawtooth hangers)

 

Liability

ShenArts and partner locations are not liable for damage, theft, or loss.

Many exhibition sites are high-traffic, public-facing spaces, and artists should take this into consideration when submitting work.

 

Roster Renewal

Roster inclusion is valid for one year.

Artists must reapply annually to remain active in the ShenArts Artist Roster.

Commission

ShenArts handles all promotion and sales and takes a 30% commission of the retail price. No price changes will be accepted at drop off. Any price changes must be submitted and approved 7 days before drop off.
