Call for Teaching Artists & Educators

A Members Only Opportunity

At ShenArts, we believe that creativity is meant to be shared — and that some of the most meaningful learning comes directly from artists, makers, and passionate individuals within our own community.

We are excited to invite ShenArts members to apply to join our Teaching Artist Roster.

This is an opportunity to bring your ideas to life, lead classes rooted in your unique expertise, and inspire others through creative, hands-on learning experiences. Whether you’re an experienced educator or simply have a skill you’re excited to share, we want to hear from you.

Why Teach with ShenArts?

As a teaching artist, you become an active part of a growing creative ecosystem—one that values experimentation, accessibility, and community connection.

Opportunities may include:

  • Leading workshops, multi-week classes, or one-time experiences

  • Sharing your artistic process and skills with diverse audiences

  • Connecting with new students, collectors, and collaborators

  • Growing your visibility within the Shenandoah Valley arts community

Who Should Apply

We are looking for members who:

  • Have a passion for sharing their knowledge or creative practice

  • Bring experience in a medium, craft, or area of expertise

  • Are excited to design engaging, thoughtful class experiences

  • Value community, collaboration, and creative exchange

What We’d Love to Learn From You

As part of your application, please share:

  • Your background and areas of expertise

  • What you’re most excited to teach

  • 1–3 class ideas you would love to lead

A Note on Membership

Our Teaching Artist Roster is a member-exclusive opportunity.

At ShenArts, membership is more than a title, it’s a way to be part of a creative network that supports, uplifts, and invests in local artists. Members gain access to opportunities like call for art discounts, exclusive community programming, promotional support, and the ability to step into leadership roles such as teaching.

If you’re not yet a member, we would love to welcome you into our community.
