ShenArts is thrilled to announce an exciting new creative experience in the heart of downtown Winchester: Boscawen Artist Alley— a vibrant, artist-forward activation taking place during First Friday in August.

For one evening, Boscawen Street between Loudoun Street and the eastern barricade will transform into a lively corridor of creativity, where the community can experience art in motion, meet local makers, and engage directly with the creative process.

This is not your typical art market. While artists are welcome to have work available for sale, the focus of Artist Alley is on process, performance, interaction, and creative energy.

​

We are seeking a limited number of artists to participate through a juried application process.

​

We’re Looking For:

• Artists with tents or booth setups

• Live painting / plein air artists

• Demonstration-based makers (ceramics, fiber arts, printmaking, carving, etc.)

• Interactive art experiences or simple hands-on activities

• Performance artists

• Poets / spoken word creatives

• Musicians or experimental creators

• Artists creating work live throughout the evening

• Connect with hundreds of First Friday visitors

• Promote commissions, classes, workshops, or future events

How to Apply

Space is limited and artists will be selected through a juried review process to ensure a dynamic and engaging mix of mediums and experiences.

Apply early to be considered.
