Peeking Through
A SHENARTS CALL FOR ART​

​This October, ShenArts opens its gallery doors to Peeking Through—an exhibition devoted to the art of curiosity and discovery. The show invites artists to explore the liminal spaces between seen and unseen, known and unknown, ordinary and extraordinary.
​
To peek through is to be caught in a moment of wonder. It is the child pressing their eye to a keyhole, the dreamer catching fragments of a fading vision, the artist glimpsing a truth just beneath the surface. Sometimes what we see is playful and magical, other times it is vulnerable and raw. What matters most is that something is revealed—something that transforms how we look, think, or feel.

Artists are encouraged to interpret the theme broadly and imaginatively. We welcome work that tells a story, sparks curiosity, or invites the viewer to step closer and discover what lies beyond the frame. Whether through painting, sculpture, photography, textiles, or experimental media, each piece will add to the collective narrative of uncovering hidden worlds.

Submission Guidelines:​

All mediums are accepted
Size maximum 36" x 36"
Artwork must be ready to hang with D-rings only.
NO SAWTOOTH HANGERS OR EYEHOOKS. WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO NOT ACCEPT ARTWORK UPON ARRIVAL.

SUBMITTING PHOTOS:

All photos must be cropped and labeled in the following format:

If they are not cropped, well lit and labeled properly, they will be disqualified.

Notification of acceptance: September 26, 2025
Art Drop Off: September 29th 3-6PM and September 30th 4-6PM.
Opening Reception: October 3rd 5PM-7PM (First Friday!)
