About the event
Constance Belle Fisher, BWS, VWS is a Clarke County, Shenandoah Valley artist. Although born in the foothills of Western Pennsylvania, she has lived in rural Northern Virginia for over 40 years. Ms. Fisher has an instinctive affinity for creative artistic expression. She studied at the Carnegie-Mellon College of Fine Arts, and after moving to Baltimore, at the Maryland Institute College of Art, the Community College of Baltimore, Towson University, and Johns Hopkins University. She worked at Hopkins as an assistant illustrator in the Department of Art as Applied to Medicine before moving to Virginia.
The focus of her art is on Expressionism. The difference between Expressionism and Abstract Art is that Expressionism does not necessarily abandon all figural or representational elements. It can often use elements of abstraction to create an emotional effect and may utilize diverse techniques to convey nontraditional and nonrepresentational images.
